THERMAL POLLUTION
13.02.2021
Thermal pollution is an anomaly in water temperatures recorded within an ecosystem.
CAUSES OF THERMAL POLLUTION
- Industries are pouring tons of hot water used for cooling their machinery into the sea or a river, resulting in the loss of animal species.
RESULTS OF THERMAL POLLUTION
- Melting of glaciers.
- The death of bacterial flora, which is essential in the self-purification processes of water.
- The proliferation of algae, which causes a decrease in some species and alterations in the functioning of the ecosystem.
SOLUTION TO THERMAL POLLUTION
- Reuse hot water from industries for other domestic and industrial purposes.
- Build cooling towers or reservoirs into which hot waste water can be poured.
- Comply with laws regarding thermal pollution.
