RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION
13.02.2021
Radioactive pollution is the release of radioactive
substances or high-energy particles into the air, water and soil, causing
serious problems for the environment and the health of living organisms.
CAUSES OF RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION
- Wartime pollution, such as radiation from nuclear explosions (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) and from the remains of uranium bullets.
- Accidental pollution, such as from nuclear accidents like Chernobyl.
- Industrial pollution, such as waste from the uranium mining industry, radioactive waste by-product nuclear power plants and nuclear reactors.
- Radioactive waste and improper waste disposal.
REMEDIES OF RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION
- No more wars so as not to produce weapons or harmful substances.
- Check nuclear power stations periodically to prevent disasters.
- Recycle waste and dispose it with all precautions.
